It's Been a Great Run!!!/ November 24, 2009- I have truly appreciated the recognition that GM-Dew Cadillac has bestowed upon me for my work in the community.  The recognition is awesome but I also got the opportunity to “be a driving influence” in Tampa Bay in a sporty HOT RED SRX while sharing my experiences with hundreds of friends, family and colleagues.  I’m especially grateful to everyone who clicked for me over the last few days to cast a vote for the Youth Development Foundation.  All of this has been a blessing to me and a memory that I won’t soon forget.  Today I’m suppose to part ways with the Caddy (WAH!).  I’ve really gotten used to the SRX –  the push button start, the seat which re-aligns as you enter and exit, the auto locking doors as you exit the car, the fun of NOT “driving like Miss Daisy”, and the XM Radio – looooooooove the XM radio and that I can TAG songs that I don’t hear regularly w/my iPhone for download at a later time (but not while driving - of course!).  Never in a million years would I have considered a Cadillac as a personal vehicle but I now have a new appreciation for GM and the Cadillac SRX.  This has been a fantastic experience and my kudos to the marketing genius behind the program!     READ MORE

NIGHT CRUISIN'/ November 23, 2009- The drive to and from work has been fun.  I’m not sure if the traffic is lighter or if I just don’t notice the other cars these days…and should I mention I’ve been itching to see how fast this baby can really go…but alas…SAFETY FIRST!  Today is my last full day with the SRX.  I have an AKA Executive Board meeting tonight and I’ll take the opportunity to show off the car to those that have not seen it yet.  I usually rush home after my meeting but I really enjoy driving the SRX at night - the sweeping head lights and the internal running lights make it nice and cozy and the rear camera aids in navigation while backing and parking.   I’ll have to come up with a host of errands tonight so that I can take advantage of the nice drive.  I’m suppose to drop my – I mean Dew Cadillac’s SRX off tomorrow around noonish…as in give them the remote control and walk away and leave it at the dealership… WAH - SAY IT AIN’T SO!    READ MORE

OUT AND ABOUT/ November 23, 2009- On a normal Saturday – I would take advantage of a free day from sorority and/or AKAdemy activities and relax at home or do some yard work.  But since I had a nice fancy, sporty HOT RED SRX waiting for me in the driveway –and the weather was “to die for” -  I was motivated to get dressed and get out and about by 9am.    Buffy and Cookie got their first ride in the SRX.  We opened the HUMONGUS sun roof and off we went to the groomer  – Two Poodles and a Mutt while blasting my selection of music that was downloaded and saved to the internal hard drive (did I mention that this is my favorite feature).   AHHH - the simple pleasures in life!   Buffy sniffed every nook and cranny and decided that the front seat belonged to her.  Cookie was a bit more reserved and decided to lounge in the rear cargo area and let the fresh air blow threw her hair. The weather was great and reminded me of why I live in/and love St. Petersburg.  Off to the Saturday Morning Market, Home Depot, Sweet Bay……..at each stop I took advantage of the remote rear hatch.  I got to use the remote to open and start the ignition and felt really special watching the lights flash and the hatch automatically lift as I sauntered to the car with packages in hand.  I ended up in Tampa for more shopping (gotta have a new pair of shoes to go with the new car!)!  I  ended the night hanging out at  Chillounge in downtown St. Pete and 400 Beach Seafood…the drive was short but very relaxing…the interior mood lighting, the music, the crowds, the people taking a second look at the car …I think I’m falling in love…. READ MORE

Friday Night Out/ November 21, 2009- Friday night was dinner out...this week we tried a new sushi restaurant - YUM,,,but no comparison to our fav - Sushi Rock!  I got the opportunity to show Kris the features of the car and of course - he had done his research and knew more about the car than I did.  We sit in the car for over an hour entertaining ourself with XM Radio, my iPod and Onstar.  The most exciting feature of them all...the built in harddrive that allows you to record your CD and save it for future listening.  Of course, we had to test it out with the my latest favorites - JayZ, Drake, Mariah Carey, Ledesi and This Is It!   I was in heaven and was itching to take a long drive just to enjoy the music and mood lighting.  No meetings on Saturday.  I'll have come up with a long list of places to go to keep me out and about sporting the SRX,...dog grooming, Saturday morning market, Home Depot, shopping, shopping and more shopping!READ MORE

My HOTTIE for the weekend/ November 20, 2009-  THURSDAY WAS THE DAY!  With little to no fanfare – I drove my Volvo XC90 to Dew Cadillac knowing that we would part ways for a few days.   While feeling good about driving a new car for the next five days – I didn’t want to get excited or overly anxious…after all – it’s just a car!  Well – not so much!  “A Candy Apply Red one!  REALLY!  Now that’s HOT!”    The demo had my head spinning…it was waaaaaaaaaaaay too much.   As I drove off – I truly felt like a new woman…with a new HOTTIE!   I returned to Golder to finish a few afternoon tasks and the front door parking space had my name all over it.  Of course, this prime location gave me the opportunity to show the SRX off!  Kerri (and Craig), Kelly, Karen, Heather and Denise were as excited as I was.   They poked, they posed, they crawled around …and someone noted – “does that hidden storage area in the back double as a beer/wine cooler”???  HHHHHMMMMMMMREAD MORE
