About Me
Hello! I’m Marjorie Broughton, president of award-winning Rock Solid Construction Group Inc. headquartered in Sarasota. I’ve lived in the Tampa Bay area most of the 36 years that I’ve lived in Florida and love living in Sarasota. I’m proud to be a state certified MBE and enjoy the satisfaction of heading an active construction firm. When not working, I thrive on being a new grandmother to one-year-old, red haired, blue eyed Madison Kay. And, being active in community affairs is a family tradition – from Junior League to board and volunteer activities, life in Sarasota is busy and fulfilling. I am married to retired lobbyist Bill Broughton, mother of Nikki Taylor, putter with orchids and raise standard poodles. Bentley, my 65-lb. seven year old standard will love riding in the SRX with the sun roof open, I can’t wait to drive in style to check construction sites, and race off to meetings around Sarasota County.
Thank you for a great week and a terrific ride!/ November 10, 2009- The SRX is back in Venice and I want a new car. Thank you Cadillac -- Crest Cadillac in particular -- for a really fun experience and a wonderful car to drive. Your promotion was a terrific idea. Kudos to some really smart agency or marketing guru. The down side here is now I have unrealistic expectations of my "old" vehicle. And I seem to have forgotten how to turn the key, punch in numbers on my phone and back up without visual aids. My radio options are now grim. Benley isn't speaking to me. And Maddie looks at the back of the headrest with distain. Perhaps some kind of SRX withdrawal therapy is in order. So sad....................READ MORE

Sad Last Day/ November 09, 2009- Overcast and windy, what a sad last day with the SRX. Just when I was getting really good with the handy steering wheel controls. Unfortunately, had to work and not drive around today. With the exception of a few visits to clients and work sites. Great car. I'm really going to miss the terrific, easy to use navigation system. But suspect I can't come up with any good excuses to keep it past lunch tomorrow.READ MORE

Sunday, Day 4/ November 08, 2009- Beautiful drive to Venice and the Crow's Nest. Wonderful view -- I could see people checking out the car in the lot. Dinner was terrific as always and we had a relaxing, comfortable drive back up the coast to Sarasota. The SRX is loaded with permit materials for an early morning ride to the building department and then out to meet with prospective clients and their architect. They've elected to let me drive. Wonder why? READ MORE
